7/14th-7/26th: Running Practice
In animation, a simple running cycle is about 12 frames. You need to have fluid action, and weight to the character as they run. Running is also a great way to practice action poses, which can make your character more dynamic.
Below is an animation exercise I did- starting with the general movement, adjusting the pacing and limbs, and then doing a quick character sketch with clothes for second hand animation. It’s 15 frames in all, on a repeated loop at 18 frames per second.
I also figured, in the spirit of running practice, to do a dynamic pose. So here’s Wonder Woman in all her glory- from line, to color, to completed piece (sans her lasso and sword… may add that later).
