1/16th-1/22nd: Finalized Family Portraits

New Year- new focus on pushing my art to new heights.
Recently project has been particularly focused on a series of digital portraits- in total, I made nine portraits. Krita as a program only continues to improve- I love how I can still make a digital portrait appear textured similar to real paint work! I’ve done realistic portraits in the past, but it had been some time since I attempted it, and this time around I tried to keep to three main principles:
-Same shading/lighting color palette
-Practicing the same angle/direction of the lighting
-For several; expression was created from a series of reference photos, rather than straight copied.

Below are a series of in-progress screenshots to show an example of the process:

First is gathering my reference photos, then developing the color palette from them. Second is forming the different shading and style adjustments. Then it’s just a matter of gradually adding detail and updating the colors as needed.
